  after the trauma of being cast out and shunned by relatives and friends, many exjw's start an investigation of the watchtower society.. they begin to collect every scrap of evidence they can get their hands on to prove they were lied to.. some of these archives may come in handy.

  Fawlty Towers (1975) & (1979) - still laugh-out-loud funny after all these years

  so, i went and bought series one and series two on second hand dvd for one pound each.. i first saw series one of fawlty towers when i was about 11, then i saw series two a year later.. it's a little dated now, but that doesn't really matter because it's still making people laugh.

  that's all comedy is.. there is one episode - the kipper and the corpse - which i think is a bit rough around the edges, it's not as polished as some of the other episodes.

  but it still has some great lines in it, e.g.. the two old ladies: you're in a good mood today, mr fawlty.. basil: yes, well one of the guests has just died.

  One of the funniest moments from memory.

  Basil tries to turn a light on from the corridor by feeling his way along the wall in search of the switch. Polly is in the way and Basil ends up grasping her chest.

  This case seems as clear cut as it gets. The blame lays squarely at the top. These were GB members doing nothing, in fact covering up disgusting abuse they knew of first hand.

  The only greater scandal would be if they had directly committed the offences.

  There is nowhere to hide.

  Here's how it was for older ex pios. The requirement was 1200 hours per year. The letter back in the day had the hours you had reported at the top of the letter. If it was 1150, not good. Unlike the rest of the congregation, you reported direct to Bethel.

  You could be de-listed, struck off from this unpaid "privilege". Serious illness was not a valid excuse. If you wanted a vacation you had to do 100 hours plus per month to build up a surplus of hours, otherwise, don't even think about it.

  Don't forget, most of us had to work for a minimum of 2 days a week to maintain even a subsistence living.

  So, yes in answer to your question we got a letter each year.

  Edit to add. The slogan of the day was "Early in the day, Early in the Month, Early in the Year"

  How can you have a deficit for a Circuit Assembly on Zoom??

  remember when after a circuit assembly the assembly overseer would come out right before the end of the assembly and make a special announcement;.

  "brothers, we have a financial deficit of $5,000 dollars for our circuit assembly.

  keep in mind that we have utilities and other expenses that need to be met.

  Don't forget that they have taken ownership of many of the assembly halls directly.

  Previously they were built using the money and skills sacrificed by well meaning sheep. They were maintained and paid for as separate entities by fleecing the same people that built them. It's like buying and owning your house, selling it to a landlord for nothing. then paying to rent it.

  Now, we don't even get to visit it, we just pay rent to keep it empty.

  One lovely brother, now dead reflecting about the eee=light (elite) he had read about in the WT.

  Reading organism as orgasm.

  I heard a recording of a convention talk where the bro used octopus features in an illustration. He repeatedly said "testicles" instead of "tentacles". After a few examples you could hear the penny drop. He had to decide whether he should continue his mistake or change to the correct word and admit his blunder.

  I think I would have just said "aww bollocks" and moved on.
